Position Overview
At the heart of our business lies a complex network of business software and internally developed systems enabling our people to work. Accurate data analytics and the technology to support them are needed not only to improve business operations, but also in working with our Board, and investors to assess our current performance and decide on our future direction.
The BI Analyst will become part of the team that maintains and develops the existing technology supporting data analytics, business intelligence, and data visualisation. We produce reporting solutions through leveraging Google BigQuery and data visualisation is provided through MS Power BI.
You will be responsible for improving the quality of existing solutions while working with internal stakeholders to deliver new reports. Data and reporting are key requirements for this successful and fast-growing international business. The internal users are data driven, want deeper insights, clearer visualisations and more self-service capabilities.
You will have to work closely with other areas of Third Bridge such as Product Management, Finance and Sales, to ensure our users are getting outstanding service from their technology tools, and to put together the right solutions when problems arise. You will also need to work with small multifunctional “matrix managed” teams from across business units where solutions involve cross departmental cooperation.
Responsibilities
Work with members of the BI team and internal stakeholders in the production of reports. Ensure reports are produced to a high standard and on time. Manage stakeholder expectations around content and delivery schedule
Produce reports using data visualization software mainly MS Power BI
Implement SQL standards and best practice across the team
Ensure the report catalogue is maintained and work with the Head of BI to implement governance procedures which will improve the quality of the data
Interpret and understand business rules and financial formulae and translate them into performant SQL code for the purposes of reporting
Skills
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL)
Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
Experience of working with data visualisation software and data report production
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures and workload management
Strong business analysis skills and project management skills
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
At least three years’ experience in a data analyst / BI Analyst role using SQL to an advanced level
