Senior Software Engineer with a DevOps specialism

This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer with a DevOps specialism to influence the future direction of our platform infrastructure and business applications.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other Software Engineers and the wider business to design and deliver maintainable software solutions and infrastructure, according to a solid understanding of business requirements
Help evolve the platform and how we deliver our services by developing and helping the wider team adopt our cloud infrastructure, observability and CI/CD offering
Take the lead where appropriate on technical decisions, implementation choices and initiatives, ensuring good communication and feedback to keep others informed
Contribute to a consensus on standards and principles to strive for the continual improvement of the efficiency and efficacy of the Engineering function
Support our transformation towards the adoption of a cohesive use of Agile frameworks and methodologies
Efficiently organise and facilitate team meetings and ceremonies
Coach, mentor and encourage more junior team members in both their technical and non-technical competencies
Be an advocate for taking responsibility and ownership of tasks within an environment where people are trusted to work autonomously
Your own personal integrity sets a high benchmark for others, fostering a convivial and psychologically safe environment where people can speak up, learn from mistakes, and grow together
Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in cloud-based DevOps practices
Solid experience with IaC. Essentially to have knowledge of Terraform and extended experience with automated deployment, configuration management
Expertise in containerisation with Docker and ECS
Solid experience with CI/CD Pipelines (e.g CircleCi, Jenkins, Github, Gitlab)
A demonstrable interest in principled Software Design and implementation and an attitude of continual improvement to strive for operational excellence
Ability to collaborate with others to achieve a common goal
A willingness to learn new technologies and best practices as well as a willingness to teach others
Good problem-solving skills with an ability to provide solutions to both complex and ambiguous requirements
Proactively seeks feedback from others and acts upon them

Flexible working - Do you work best in the office or from home? We want you to work where works for you so you have the flexibility to choose to come into the office up to four days a week (excluding Wednesdays) or to work from home anywhere in the UK and Northern Ireland.
